Week 3

In Literacy this week we have been creating rhythmic poems on the theme of the seasons. We wrote a fantastic class poem about Spring and each wrote individual winter poems. They were great! All this work helped us create a Spanish dance in PE where we used 'hot' words to inspire our movements.
In Maths we have been practicing partitioning numbers in to tens and units to add two digit numbers together.
We have learned lots more about Mexico, comparing life in Mexico City and the countryside to our own loves in Bristol. On Friday we had a visit from Alejandro, a Mexican man who lives in England. He told us all about his childhood in Mexico and traditional Mexican food and games. He also told us how to say all our names in Spanish. We really enjoyed his visit. Thanks Alex!

Ola Mexico!

What an exciting start to our new topic, Mexico! We created 3D maps of Mexico and included different elements of the landscape such as the desert, forests, rivers and the sea.

We have enjoyed sharing the presentations prepared during the holidays and learning lots of facts about Mexico from each other.

in ICT we used the Internet to search for more information and found out that Mexico is a large country in Central America. The people there speak Spanish and wear Sombreros! It is a very popular holiday destination.

On Friday we sampled some Mexican guacamole and salsa. The unanimous verdict was 'yummy!'

Our Literacy this week has been poetry and we have loved learning and performing funny poems to each other. In Maths we have been creating pictograms and learning to count in groups.
